How to prepare for assessment

  1. Write a short timeline of your patterns since childhood. School reports help if you have them.
  2. Note family history of ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, addiction.
  3. List your current struggles in concrete examples, not adjectives.
  4. Track sleep, mood and follow-through for 2–4 weeks (Steady can do this for you).
  5. Bring a partner, parent or close friend's perspective if you can — outside observers see what masking hides.

Steady's daily check-ins and progress export are designed to give you a clean two-page summary you can hand to your GP or assessor. See how Steady works.

After assessment

Diagnosis is a milestone, not a finish line. You'll likely have new questions about medication, therapy, work disclosure, and how to actually live differently. Read our newly diagnosed guide for what tends to help in the first 90 days.
